It just cracks me up!

We've been looking for a missing curve for the railroad track all week. I had finally given up and decided it somehow got farther under the couch than I could get to. Then tonight while the kids were in the bath, I was staying in earshot of them and decided to tickle the ivories a minute. (It's the only chance I get to play without 6 other hands showing up to join me!) Opened the piano bench to pull out some different music, and behold, the missing train track. How or why it got in there is a mystery to me. The rest of the track was set up in a completely different room. On another note, I hope all the other Wildcats are also enjoying this evening of KU defeat! Sure would have been fun to be there in person! Go Cats!

The Strangest Things Show Up...

Hubby has been cleaning out some of 'his' boxes we've been moving around the state. They are stacked in the house because they used to be in the garage before we cleaned it out to make room for vehicles for the winter. Anyway, I've found a few interesting items popping up around the house...

...And this on our front door, after I was banned from hanging anything on it (because Hubby kept running into the decorations somehow.) He asked me to hot glue this back together, but I thought it was to give it away!
Does anyone else have more understanding for some of the interesting outfits you see kids wearing, after your own kids have started to exercise their own style independence?
Tonight Hubby went to play basketball, and he left two girls standing at the door, wailing for him. Princess turned and said with a full lower lip, "I feel like I'm left behind!" No reason, but I feel like mentioning that some of my least favorite things to do are dusting and sanitizing the vaporizer. And giving myself pinkeye drops. :) Ta-ta!

A Good Read

Amazingly, I am still able to enjoy reading--in smaller bits of time than pre-kid, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. (And sometimes I get to read books without pictures, too!) :) I just finished 'The Baronet's Song' by George MacDonald, it's a nice read, very descriptive of the Scottish countryside, but not too descriptive to make it boring. It's a touching story about an orphan, who although treated very poorly, still has a pure spirit and love for humanity. He's always looking out for others, what he could do for them, never thinking what he would or could gain from it, and that really impressed me. He comes to know Jesus through a woman who takes him in. The description of her faith was simple, but impressive to me: "Not for years and years had Janet been to church. She had long been unable to walk so far; and having no book but the best, and no help to understand it but the highest, her faith was simple, strong, real, all-pervading. Day by day she pored over the great gospel until she had grown to be one of the noble ladies of the kingdom of heaven--one of those who inherit the earth and are ripening to see God. For the Master, and His mind in hers, was her teacher. She had little or no theology save what He taught her. To Janet, Jesus Christ was no object of so-called theological speculation, but a living Man who somehow or other heard her when she called to Him,..." Not that I'm advocating not going to church by any means, I just thought it interesting how complicated we make knowing God sometimes.

I finally had time to play with this again today. When my sister Natalie moved in this fall (and brought DSL with her), I thought maybe it was time to start the fun of blogging. It seems like a fun way to stay caught up with people, as well as keep track of websites I like to look at (since we're forever having computer problems and losing bookmarks, etc.! Although after our recent upgrade, I hope computer crashes are a thing of the past!) If it wasn't so interesting to get everything set up just right in elements and colors, I'd probably have written more by now! Your comments and suggestions for fun links to add are welcome!
